‘A man is tempered by his setbacks; not by his victories’ ~ Maverick
Doesn’t this sound like a contradiction to you?
The question that may be on your mind is, ‘how can that be?
Aren’t setbacks, bad?’
Afterall, whenever we suffer a setback, we become depressed, frustrated, angry and feel that life is unfair, isn’t it?
Yet, here we are saying a person is made that much stronger by their setbacks and NOT by their victories!!
Think back to a time when you faced severe hardship …
Yes, during that time, you agonized over the hardship … you tried to find a solution … you struggled … you suffered emotionally as well as physically … but the thing is, despite the odds, you did not give up.
You persevered & ultimately, you succeeded.
When you look at yourself after that challenge, wouldn’t you say, you had become tougher, more resilient, more confident of your coping abilities, mechanisms & strategies?
If truth be told, wouldn’t you say you felt proud of yourself for sticking it out & ultimately coming out triumphant.
Fact is, next time you face a setback, ‘Don’t allow your frustrations to guide you. The worst case scenarios inside your head are unlikely to be true.
Be present in the life in front of you.
Don’t allow your mind to take you anywhere, but here.
Just take it one moment at a time’ ~ Arzmalik
Learn to ‘wear your tragedies as armor, not as shackles’ ~ anonymous; for an armor protects you, whilst shackles disturb your progress.
‘We fall.
We break.
We fail …
But then, We rise, We heal, We overcome’ ~ Martha Anderson
Be like Jack Canfield:
‘I choose to believe things are possible, even when I don’t know how they will happen’
Believe you can achieve even though you don’t see how.
Remember:
‘In the middle of every difficulty, lies opportunity’ ~ Albert Einstein
And ‘Happiness is letting go of what you think your life is supposed to look like and celebrating it for everything that it is’ ~ Quoteish
