BOOKS THAT SHAPED MY LIFE
Growing up I had access to many, many books.
My mother being a Teacher, my father being a Lecturer, my Grandmother being a Teacher and my Grandfather being a Teacher, this was no great surprise!!
Seeing the great interest and fascination I had with books, Mum encouraged me to read.
I read Historical Novels such as Anna Pavlova; Romance Novels such as Mills and Boons, Hallmark Super Romance Novels & Magazines.
Among these, I also read Shona Novels.
The following are the ones that made the greatest impact on me & left a lasting impression on me:
💜Gehena Harina Moto by Giles Kuimba
💙Karikoga Gumiremiseve by Patrick Chakaipa
💚Tambaoga Mwanangu by Giles Kuimba
💛Rurimi Inyoka by Giles Kuimba
🧡Chinamanenji hachifambisi by Mordekai Abenia Hamutyinei
❤Kusasana kunoparira by Mordekai Abenia Hamutyinei
🤎Jekanyika by F.C. Mugugu
🖤Pafunge by T.K. Tsodzo
🤍Muchadura by E. Ribeiro
to mention but a few.
The way the story line was created, weaved, brought together; then ultimately solved, was truly a work of art!!
I have read thousands upon thousands of books in my lifetime & I must say, I am still to meet Authors who have the same ingenuity!!
These minds fascinated me, teleported me to places I had never been before; motivated me to become a Writer myself.
In this life, I believe there is nothing like a good story line.
If you want your children to learn, absorb & be mentored in ways you can't yourself, introduce them to the world of books.
You will be amazed at what they can learn & be influenced by.

All of us need to be inspired by something or someone. I was inspired by some great reads 📚 I encountered growing up. Besides the books I have mentioned in my article, there are others ... namely 'Beauvallet' by Georgette Heyer; 'Call in the Night' by Susan Howatch These are of course to name, but a few. I absolutely love ❤ and adore Barbara Taylor Bradford!! She is by far my greatest motivator. 'A Woman of Substance ' captured my heart and its been hooked ever since!!
