"Where is my food, woman?!"
Andrew bellowed at his wife the instant she popped through the door.
He was seated in the lounge at one of the couches that Omega had bought using the bonus she had received the previous year end.
Polite as ever, Omega attempted a civil
"Good evening Baba vaJessica" to which the greeting was ignored and Andrew just glared at her, distaste & disapproval mirrored on his face.
He was in a foul mood.
The chick he was dating these days had stood him up.
He had not liked it.
He had been looking forward to spending some quiet time with her in a motel somewhere.
"Where have you been?”
He bellowed
“What kind of hours are these that you keep?
Shouldn't you have been back home hours ago?
What kind of wife did I marry?
Maybe I should get myself a second wife who is interested in the affairs of pleasing this household rather than pleasing the affairs of outsiders!"
Andrew was beside himself with rage, fuming, nostrils flaring.
Despite this outburst, Omega remained calm.
She proceeded to put her handbag on the side table nearby and sat down facing her mean, unreasonable and insensitive husband.
She wondered what had brought on this sudden bout of rage and outburst.
‘A difficult day at the office ... perhaps ...’
She mused
She sat back and closed her eyes.
She rubbed her temple.
She was bone tired after spending more than fourteen hours on her feet.
Omega was the Head Executive Chef at one of the largest and famous restaurants in the country.
Lies, betrayal, deception, insults ...
Why did Omega put up with her husband's bad behaviour and utterances all these years?
After succumbing to a major crisis at the hands of her husband, will she be able to rise above this major challenge or succumb to it?
